Zurich-based architecture firm Raumtakt has overseen the extension and renovation of a beautiful villa, redistributing the rooms and improving the building’s energy performance. The new room layout meets the needs of the couple, but also provides adequate space for the two children. Some small windows have been replaced with very bright insulating glass windows, which give the rooms great brightness and airiness. The contemporary industrial look is made warmer and cosier by the wood tones of the floors and furniture.
For the master bathroom, interior designer Stefan Müller chose our For You bathtub. This freestanding bathtub is characterised by its slim thickness, which gives a sense of lightness and matches the minimal profiles of the glass walls and railings. It is made of CristalPlant, a solid surface material composed of high-purity minerals and resin. The surface is pleasant to the touch, giving a feeling similar to smoothed stone. From a technical point of view, the material is self-cleaning and scratch-resistant, and any cracks and chipping are easily repairable.
