Sasso Black

The design of the Sasso countertop basin by Mastella takes its cue from natural rocks, creating a pure and harmonious atmosphere in the bathroom interior. Its asymmetric and polished volume is enhanced by the tough, engineering grade Cristalplant® black composite used for its manufacture. It can be combined with a wall- or top-mounted mixer tap, as preferred. A basin with both attitude and elegance: unique in its sphere. Supplied with free flow drain included in the product specification.

Like a rock sculpted by water

The surface presents rounded and sinuous contours, suggesting the form of a perfectly smooth and polished stone. The bowl looks as if it had been eroded and hollowed out by rushing water, giving a sense of natural depth.

The fact of being fashioned entirely from black Cristalplant® composite makes this basin unique, and durable in the extreme: a lengthy manufacturing process renders the solid surface black through-and-through, requiring no further powder coating or other finish. The nano-technology based treatment employed ensures that the surface of the basin can be provided with maximum protection, which means the original properties of the product will remain intact over time.

The drain provided with the basin is fashioned likewise from Cristalplant®. Its shape reflects that of the basin, with its soft and irregular contours: a detail that emphasizes the exclusive nature of the Mastella design.

Christian Piccolo

Born in 1977 in Montebelluna, eclectic designer. After graduating at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice (110/110 e lode), he began working as a designer and interior designer. He has directed his research towards a plastic that could be called minimalist formal language and rational. His expression is reduced to the essential fact, is purely abstract, objective and free of surface decorations. Christian Piccolo favors the study focused on the possibilities offered by space-pure form. He began his professional career designing his first ceramic products, after working with several companies he began to collaborate and complement the lighting. He has participated in major international exhibitions: Salone del Mobile (Milan), Cersaie (Bologna), ISH (Frankfurth), Abitare il Tempo (Verona), Macef (Milan) Light & Building (Frankfurth) Maison & Objet (Paris).
